Osaka Castle, History Museum and Lace Exhibition

A symbol of Osaka, Osaka Castle was built in the 16th century on the site of Hongan-ji. The magnificent castle shows a wonderful technique of piling cut rocks, which is often compared with the Great Pyramids.
You will visit the Castle Tower with an English speaking guide and you might be able to feel the atmosphere of that period. At the History Museum, you can learn how people used to live in the medieval city of water, Osaka.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Lace Exhibition held in the historic building of the business centre. (It is the first and the last lace exhibition by Katsuko Sakagami's group.)
Visit to Kyoto

The Congress site is at Kobe, which is one of the most westernized cities in Japan. We have organized a one day tour to Kyoto in order for you to taste the traditional culture of Japan.
It will take you to two World Heritage temples, Golden Temple and Kiyomizu Temple. (Please see the introduction about the temples in the Lace Tour.)
Kiyomizu temple is on a hill () and no car nor bus can get near. So please be prepared to walk up the hill, although there are a lot of nice small shops on the way and if you decide to stay, you can find a nice place to have something to drink.
This tour will also give you a chance to experience Yuzen deying (making a handkerchief). This type of dyeing method is famous for its elegant drawing on Kimonos.
* As the itinerary of this tour is almost the same as the four day Lace tour, we recommend it to the people who cannot attend the Lace Tour.
