The theme for the competition is
" WEDDINGS "

With this theme we want you to create new designs related to weddings. Any material can be used, it can be in two or three dimensions, white or color.
* Needle Lace & Bobbin Lace only.

e.g.,
Wedding dresses, Veils, Bouquets, Handkerchiefs, Pochettes, Gloves, Anything related to weddings

YOUNG LACEMAKERS
Contest entries are encouraged from young lacemakers, who are aged 8-16 years.
A certificate(s) and a prize will be awarded, for this category.

COMPETITION RULES

  • The competition is open to all lace-makers except members of the Executive Committee of OIDFA and the organizing committee of the 2010 Congress.
  • The lace must be designed and worked by the participant.
  • The lace will remain the property of the maker.
  • The lace must be original and may not have previously been published or submitted in a competition.
  • The design must be worked in bobbin or needle lace or a combination of both.
  • More than one piece of lace may be submitted.
  • The total dimension of the lace must be within a reasonable size.
  • Participation in the competition gives OIDFA the right to publish the design.
  • The lace will be judged by an impartial jury who will give consideration to the originality, design and workmanship.
  • The judges' decision is final.
  • Three prizes will be awarded, the prizes will be 500, 300 and 200€.

SUBMITTING THE LACE

  • Entry forms should reach the Committee by 10 March 2010
  • All entries and photographs should reach the Committee by 5 June 2010 to be eligible for entry
  • All mailing costs are to be paid by the participant.
  • The participant pays carriage and insurance costs during transportation
  • The participant is responsible for ensuring that the lace is well packed during transport.
  • A representative photograph of the lace must be included for identification purposes.
  • Name and address of the participant must be clearly indicated on the photograph of the lace. This photograph should also bear the title of the lace, display indications, e.g. "up", and should be placed in an envelope and enclosed with the lace.

COLLECTION OF THE LACE

The lace may be collected on Sunday.11.July 2010, after the closing-ceremony of the Congress, on production of an identity document AND a photograph similar to the one used for identification purposes.
Lace that has not been collected at the end of the Congress will be sent back at the participant's expense.
