About Payment

As long as you didn’t change anything on your registration and you made a wire transfer on right way – having paid 2 banking charges in your country and Japan -, there must be no additional payment (shortage).
This is NOT to ask for more money unreasonably. I hope this explanation in English does not make you confused and disappointed.

As having informed to all participants by email, some participants are supposed to pay an additional payment or get money back when coming to the Congress.

Here are the reasons those extra costs happened.

  • Mostly, forgetting to pay a banking charge in either country, own or Japan.
Banker should have known, explained and taken care of it technically, and we should have announced carefully or have included all banking charges on the invoices.
  • Making a wire transfer in terms of euro, dollar or own currency, and then the payment wasn’t converted the exact same amount of a invoice in JPY.
  • Modifying something on the registration, such as changing “the brewery without lunch” to “with lunch” or booking one more seat of the Gion festival.
  • Just making a mistake when making a wire transfer.

We very apologize for this inconvenience caused, and thank for your understanding indeed.

Here are the list how much to pay or get when the Congress.

The list of the shortage

Please check the list and be ready to do before coming to the reception desk at the museum. At the same time to get a bag and name card at the reception desk, we’ll ask you to settle. Of course, we’ll hand official letters issued by “SUMITOMO MITSUI BANK” and re-issue a invoice or receipt.

Many thanks,

To the KANSAI airport after the Congress

On 12th, when going back to your country right after the Congress without attending the LACE TOUR, a limousine bus is the most convenient to go to the KANSAI airport as well.
But, advanced reservation is necessary on the direction from the bus stop in front of the Sheraton Hotel to the airport.
If taking it, please ask concierge at the Sheraton or Plaza.

In the case of going to the KANSAI airport from ANA Hotel after the LACE TOUR, there are three ways.

  1. Taxi – better way than bus and train, I think
  2. Bus – need transfer at the Kyoto station
  3. Train – need transfer at the Kyoto station

画像 119

If taking taxi “MK Sky-Gate-Shuttle taxi”, It costs 3,500 JPY from whole area of Kyoto to the KANSAI airport. It’s supposed to be made a reservation two days before you ride, and then they come to pick up. Please ask concierge at the ANA Hotel for reservations.
One thing, you should care about when you depart because if passenger is not only you and their direction is different from yours, taxi may stop by for other passengers.
For more details, please check this page below.
http://www.mk-group.co.jp/english/shuttle/

By bus or train, you have to go to the Kyoto station at first. There is free bus service from the ANA Hotel to the Kyoto station every 15 minutes.
And then, taking an express train “Haruka” (2,980 JPY) or limousine bus (2,500 JPY).

By any ways, please consider how long it takes, and when leaving the Hotel.

From KANSAI Airport to the Hotels and Museum

There are three ways to come to the Sheraton, Plaza Hotel and the museum from the KANSAI airport.

  1. Bus – This is the Best way, easiest!
  2. Taxi – Expensive!
  3. Train – need to transfer many times, tired!

As I recommend above, taking a limousine bus is the best way.

When you come out from North or South Gate after going through the Custom and taking your baggage, you will see a change booth, cell-phone shop, starbucks coffee or something.

Since the KANSAI airport is not so huge, you can find EXIT to the outside on the same floor easily. Let’s go out, and look for the BUS STOP No.6.

画像 161

The bus depart at No.6 goes to the Sheraton, Plaza Hotel and the museum. Before getting on, you have to buy a ticket at a counter in person or vending machine in front of the bus stop. Fare is 1,750 JPY.

Here is one thing to be careful.
Not all buses go to the same direction. please check a timetable and ride on the right ones.
The departure schedule is as follows: 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12am, 1pm, 1:55pm, 2:55pm, 3:55pm, 4:35pm, 5:15pm, 6:55pm, 7:55pm, 8:55pm, 10pm.

The first stop “Rokko island (Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel)” is the place you should get off. Hotel Plaza Kobe and the museum are also near from this bus stop, it’s just a few minutes walk.

About the Museum and around it

The Kobe fashion museum, Bay Sheraton Hotel and Hotel Plaza Kobe are very close each other. Coming here by train or limousine bus, it’s obviously easy access to those 3 facilities. Rokko island, those 3 facilities are located, is a bit away from the center of downtown “Kobe” and quit area. I hope you like here.

From the train station “Island center” or bus terminal, it’s just 5 minutes walk to the museum. You can walk outside to get 1st floor of the museum, or walk through corridor to 3rd floor of it. Around the station, there are a supermarket, food court, starbucks, convenience store and so on.

Public Prize of the competition

コンクール賞品

COC, Congress Organizing Committee has chosen a lacquer ware, “Japan” trophy.
ZOHIKO, lacquer ware shop, was founded in 1661. It is the most distinguished lacquer ware shop in Japan. The main shop is situated in the east of Kyoto very close to Kyoto Museum of traditional crafts. Their “Japan” has high reputation and of course the cost is high, too.
However, as the same craftsman spirit with us lace-makers, they agreed to offer this for the quite reasonable price. We are also thinking to order the “Japan” trays with the Congress logo. Of course they would be rather expensive, but if you know the quality of their products, it is still very reasonable one. You would be proud of it, we assure!

Lace Exhibitions during the Congress

There are 4 lace exhibitions held during the Congress. I think some of you are not able to take part in half, one-day trip or lace tour, and not to go there on those tours.
But please do not be depressed, those exhibitions are opened for everyone with free entrance.
For detail, please check this page below.

The information about Lace Exhibitions

Unfortunately, it’s not so easy to get there because transportation in Japan is quite complicated. I hope this new information helps you and make your stays much happier.
